Final festival a success
Udany finałowy festiwal
25/02/2013

The annual Kosciuszko Festivals have ended on a high note, with the seventh festival drawing together a range of cultures for two days of historic events in the Snowy Mountains.

Dream Lights, the final Kosciuszko festival organised by Kosciuszko Heritage, held from February 23 to 24, celebrated the best of Aboriginal, Australian, Irish and Polish cultures.

It was inspired by the achievements of the explorer Sir Paul Strzelecki and the majesty of the mountain he named after General Kosciuszko, a renowned champion of equal rights and liberty for humankind.

Among the many events that took place over the two-day multicultural festival were an historic Centenary Mass on Mt Kosciuszko, celebrated by Bishop Julian Porteous, and performances by the acclaimed and award-winning American pianist Roy Eaton, whose concert was dedicated to the Ngarigo people, the traditional custodians of Mt Kosciuszko.

Festiwal został zainspirowany osiągnięciami odkrywcy Pawła Strzeleckiego i majestatem gór nazwanych po Generale Kościuszki, znanym mistrzem równych praw i wolności człowieka.

Wśród wielu wydarzeń, które miały miejsce podczas tego dwudniowego festiwalu wielokulturowego była historyczna Stuletnia Msza na Górze Kościuszki, celebrowana przez biskupa Julian'a Porteous, i występy słynnego i wielokrotnie nagradzanego amerykańskiego pianisty Roy'a Eaton, którego koncert został zadedykowany ludziom Ngarigo, tradycyjnym opiekunom Góry Kościuszki.
