Kosciuszko Heritage will be at Polish Christmas festival

Kosciuszko Heritage will be at this year’s Polish Christmas Festival in Darling Harbour.

The event will take place in the renovated Tumbalong Park in Sydney’s CBD, on December 4, between 11 am and 6 pm.

Kosciuszko Heritage will be promoting the 2017 Year of Kosciuszko, as well as selling Kosciuszko DVDs at its stall.

Krzysztof Lachowicz was part of a group that made its way to the Swiss city, which is known as the location of the Polish freedom fighter’s death.

Artwork donation from the U.S.

The American sculptress Tracy Sugg has donated an artwork to Kosciuszko Heritage.

The piece, titled The Spirit of Polonia, features a high relief sculpture of a figure personifying ‘Polonia’ (the Polish Community), with a sword in one hand and a victory wreath in the other, depicting the way in which her determination throughout history has ensured her victory.

Kosciuszko Heritage has been invited to participate in a symposium about Tadeusz Kosciuszko.

The invitation – to the XXVIII International Kosciuszko Symposium on the Occasion of the 222nd Anniversary of the Battle of Maciejowice and the 270th Anniversary of the Birth of Tadeusz Kosciuszko – was sent by Leszek Marek Krzesniak, the president of the Polish Kosciuszko Foundation.

The English-language version of the film Kosciuszko: Poland Will Yet Dance is to be launched at Sydney’s iconic Parliament House.

The premiere of the film will take place on October 6, 2016, in the Parliament House Theatrette.

The event has been made possible thanks to generous funding from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney.

Logo unveiled for 2017 celebrations

The official logo for next year’s celebrations of the bicentenary of Tadeusz Kosciuszko’s death has been unveiled.

The logo was designed by three committee members: Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek, Andrzej Kozek and Lukasz Swiatek.

It will be used in Kosciuszko Heritage-organised activities to mark the UNESCO-supported 200th anniversary of the death of the political leader and humanitarian.
